Can We Count On You?

As we bid farewell to 2023, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey ELF has undertaken throughout the year. The milestones achieved have been nothing short of extraordinary. Dr. Joaquin Arambula's recognition of ELF as the non-profit of the year for the 31st district left me speechless, and the overwhelming support from our community, earning us the title of Best of Central California, Silver, as nonprofit of the year, was truly humbling. Additionally, being named one of the 40 under 40 by BusinessLeaders.TV was an honor beyond words.

However, amidst the celebrations, we also faced challenges. Turnover, loss of funding, and discontinuation of programs served as stark reminders of the uncertainties that non-profits face. In response, we launched our inaugural Annual Fund, a crucial initiative aimed at ensuring our long-term sustainability and providing opportunities in the Central Valley.

While we revel in our accomplishments, the reality is that we've received only a handful of donations. Today, I reach out to you, a potential first-time donor, to invite you to be a part of our mission. Your contribution can make a significant impact. Every dollar you donate will empower us to continue funding student stipends, assisting DACA recipients with renewal applications, covering fees for families facing deportation orders, and maintaining the financial strength of our organization.

As we navigate a potential state budget marked by substantial deficits for fiscal year 24-25, we have already felt the repercussions, such as the elimination of state funding for DACA and Naturalization filing fees. This funding allowed ELF to support 594 individuals and families in 2023. This is just the beginning of what we anticipate will be a challenging year for community-based organizations. Your support is crucial to ensuring that ELF can persist in providing transformative services to our community every day.

Consider joining us in making a difference. Your donation to ELF is an investment in the future, supporting our vision of becoming an inspiring model of service through advocacy, social justice, innovation, and sustainability—locally and globally. Together, we can weather the challenges ahead and continue making a positive impact on the lives of those who call the Central Valley home. Please be a part of our journey by donating to ELF today.
