DACA Renewal Process Delays

In recent months, the Education and Leadership Foundation has noticed delays in the Deferred Action (DACA) renewal process. What previously took less than three months has now experienced delays of up to six months, placing beneficiaries at risk of losing their jobs and their protection. According to available information, USCIS is currently processing applications from the month of November.
We urge all DACA beneficiaries to take note of their document’s expiration date and submit their renewal application at least six months in advance. It is also preferable to complete the process online through the USCIS portal, as this not only represents a cost savings ($555 online, $605 by mail), but may also help speed up processing.

Several organizations, including our foundation, can assist you in completing your renewal application, and we encourage you to seek out accredited agencies or attorneys who specialize in immigration matters. It is important to be cautious about who is handling this process and to avoid falling into the hands of notaries or unscrupulous individuals—whether for this or other immigration procedures—that could put you and your loved ones at risk.
